This is the quilt I made for my first baby, Madilyn. The minute I found out she was going to be a girl, I started on this quilt. I loved the idea of a lattice pattern, which I first saw in the book Destiny by G.E. Designs. The pattern for the applique flowers came from the same book, but a different pattern. I worked out the color scheme in EQ6 and used fabrics I had in my stash. It's girly and fun and will probably always be one of my favorites!

Oh my I don't know which is cuter the quilt or the baby, yes I do she's adorable! My daughter always wore bonnets when she was little. Great quilt, thanks visiting me and for your sweet comment.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet! I love the appliqued flower vine!
ReplyDeleteI love girly things. I particularly like the way you arranged the applique in the curvy vine. Beautiful! (and so is the baby!)
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is beautiful and your baby is adorable.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't reply to your comment about my quilt because there's a no-reply on it, but the quilt is really easy to put together, no y-seams. It's a square in a square block. The pattern is from Bethany Reynolds called Talking Blocks. Give it a go, you'll love it!
When the first photo came up, I actually yelled "Aaah!" because she was soooooo cute!!! Super cute baby, super sweet quilt. You're so talented.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt for such a sweet baby - never mind cramming in a bunch of sewing, put your feet up and enjoy some relaxation (how does one do that with a toddler in the house? I have no idea)! Three weeks from now, you're going to need all the energy you can muster - lol, especially with a newborn AND a two year old!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful pair! The quilt and the baby are both just gorgeous! Congratulations on your next bundle too. I hope you make lots of pretty quilts for your girls!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is beautifully sewn. I am admiring the way you clustered the flower appliques in the corners. It is a wonderful heirloom for your lovely daughter.
